The basic gel report contains information about protein identification related to specific gel spots. In Proteios 1 the report contains both MS and MSMS identifciations, but one could as well do separate reports for MS and MSMS identifications since some columns will be unique for each type of result. For MSMS identifications there should be one entry for each matched peptide and one summary for each protein.

It should be possible to filter the report to only display search results from a certain day, and to filter away results with a high or low score or e-value.

The result columns which should be there:

Search date
Spot ID
E-value - E-value for the search
Score - Score from the database search engine
Score type
Protein ID - The protein accession number
Description - Protein description (MS or MSMS protein) or the sequence of peptides (MSMS peptide)
Coverage - The fraction of the protein sequence that is explained by matched peaks (MS) or matching peptides (MSMS protein summary)
MW - theoretical molecular mass of the protein based on the sequence
pI - Theoretical pI of the protein based on the sequence
Target ID - If the spot was spotted on a MALDI target, this is the ID
Target Position - position on the target plate
MP ID - The ID of the microtitre plate where the spot ended up after processing
MP position - position in the microtitre plate
Matched peaks - Matched masses for MS spectrum or matched peptides for MSMS protein summary
Total peaks - Total theoretical peaks of the protein (MS)
RMS error (ppm) - root mean square error of the matched peaks (MS) or peptides (MSMS protein summary)
Total intensity - Total intensity of peaks in MSMS peptide spectrum or sum of total intensities from matched peptides (MSMS protein summary)
Experimental mass (Da) - MSMS peptide only
Charge - MSMS peptide only
Delta (Da) - MSMS peptide only
